Conclusion of contract
1.1 Booking offer
By making a binding booking, the customer (m/f/d) offers wide wild world, owner Ina Just (“wide wild world” / the “tour operator”), to conclude a travel contract on the basis of the individually prepared offer from wide wild world and these General Terms and Conditions of Travel. The booking is made for all participants listed in it; the customer is liable for their contractual obligations as for his or her own, provided he or she has assumed this liability by express, separate declaration.
1.2 Online booking
For all online bookings, the booking process is explained to the customer on the tour operator’s website. During the booking process, the customer can change, correct or reset his or her details at any time. By clicking the “book with obligation to pay” button, the customer submits a legally binding booking order. After that, no further changes can be made to the personal details. After receipt of the booking, the customer receives an acknowledgement of receipt in text form, which does not yet constitute acceptance of the order. The contract language is exclusively German.
1.3 Conclusion of the contract
The travel contract is concluded when the tour operator accepts the booking order. wide wild world confirms the conclusion of the contract with the travel confirmation / invoice on a durable medium and sends the security certificate (Sicherungsschein). The underlying insolvency insurance protects all of the customer’s payments against insolvency.
1.4 Deviating travel confirmation
If the content of the travel confirmation deviates from the customer’s booking, this constitutes a new offer by which the tour operator is bound for 10 days. The contract is concluded if the customer accepts it within this period (e.g. by paying the deposit).
1.5 No right of withdrawal
Terms of payment
2.1 Due dates
After conclusion of the contract, a deposit of 50% of the travel price is due, payable within 7 days of the invoice date. The balance is due 28 days before departure. If the contract is concluded within this period, the full price is due immediately.
2.2 Late payment
If the customer fails to pay despite a reminder and a reasonable deadline, wide wild world is entitled to withdraw from the contract and cancel the booking. In this case, cancellation fees in accordance with section 5.2 may apply.
Services and contract changes
3.1 Contractually agreed services
The contractually agreed services are set out in the description of the trip at the time of booking and in the corresponding travel confirmation.
3.2 Minor changes
After conclusion of the contract, wide wild world reserves the right to change minor contractual terms unilaterally, for example route changes due to natural events (e.g. landslides, floods, forest fires) or replacing a tour guide who is personally unavailable. The customer will be informed clearly and comprehensibly on a durable medium.
3.3 Significant changes
If the tour operator can only provide the trip with a significant change to an essential feature of the travel services, wide wild world may offer the customer a change of services. The customer may accept the offer within a reasonable period or withdraw from the contract. After this period has expired, the offer is deemed accepted.
Price changes after conclusion of the contract
4.1 Unilateral price increase
The tour operator reserves the right to increase the travel price unilaterally after conclusion of the contract in the event of unforeseeable changes in:
- Transport costs (fuel, energy sources)
- Taxes and levies (tourist taxes, port or airport fees)
- Exchange rates applicable to the package
A price increase is only effective if the customer is informed no later than 20 days before departure.
4.2 Price increase above 8%
If the price increase exceeds 8% of the travel price, it cannot be made unilaterally. wide wild world must make the customer an offer; the customer may accept it or withdraw from the contract.
Cancellation, rebooking, substitute travellers
5.1 Right to cancel
The customer may withdraw from the contract at any time before departure. Cancellation should be declared in writing or text form (e.g. by email).
5.2 Cancellation fees
If the customer cancels the trip, wide wild world may charge the following flat-rate compensation:
| Period before departure | Compensation (% of travel price) |
|---|---|
| Up to day 45 | 30 % |
| Day 44 to 30 | 50 % |
| Day 29 to 14 | 70 % |
| Day 13 to 7 | 85 % |
| From day 6 / no-show | 90 % |
The customer is free to prove that no damage or significantly less damage has been incurred.
5.3 Rebooking
Due to the exclusive nature of the trips offered, the customer has no legal right to rebook after receiving the travel confirmation. If rebooking is possible, the tour operator may charge a rebooking fee of € 150.00 per rebooking. Rebooking requests later than 45 days before departure can only be carried out by cancellation and simultaneous new booking.
5.4 Substitute travellers
If the customer cannot take the trip, he or she may declare that a third party will assume the rights and obligations under the travel contract instead. The tour operator must receive this declaration no later than seven days before departure. The third party and the customer are jointly and severally liable for the travel price and any additional costs.
Travel insurance
To cover cancellation and curtailment costs, the tour operator recommends taking out travel cancellation insurance. wide wild world may arrange such insurance as an ancillary intermediary exempt from licensing under § 34d (8) no. 1 GewO (German Trade Regulation Act).
Unused services
If the customer does not use individual travel services for reasons for which he or she alone is responsible (e.g. early return, illness, inability to travel), there is no entitlement to a pro-rata refund of the travel price.
Cancellation by the tour operator
8.1 Minimum number of participants
The tour operator may withdraw from the contract up to 28 days before departure if the minimum number of participants is not reached, provided the minimum number and the withdrawal deadline were stated in the pre-contractual information and the travel confirmation.
8.2 Extraordinary circumstances
wide wild world may also withdraw from the contract before departure if it is prevented from fulfilling the contract by unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances.
Liability of the tour operator
9.1 Limitation of liability
The contractual liability of wide wild world for damage other than bodily injury that is not culpably caused is limited, per trip and customer, to three times the travel price. These limitations of liability do not apply to claims under the Montreal Convention.
9.2 Tour guides
Tour guides and travel agencies are not authorised to acknowledge claims with effect for wide wild world.
9.3 Sea transport
International carriage by sea is subject to the Athens Convention and Regulation (EC) No. 392/2009. Liability is limited to the limits set out there.

10.1 Notification of defects
The customer must report any defects immediately to the local tour guide or the tour operator and request a remedy within a reasonable period. If the customer culpably fails to do so, he or she is not entitled to claim a price reduction or damages.
10.2 Remedy
If the customer requests a remedy, wide wild world must remedy the travel defect. It may only refuse to do so if the remedy is impossible or involves disproportionate costs.
10.3 Termination for significant defects
If a trip is significantly impaired by a defect, the customer may terminate the contract — but only after a reasonable deadline for remedy has expired without success.
10.4 Baggage damage on flights
